“Yeah, danger is my assignment. I get sent to a lot of places I can’t even pronounce. They all spell the same thing, though: trouble.”
The groundbreaking 1950s spy show is available on DVD as a complete collection for the first time ever in a five-disc collector’s set on May 20th
"Dangerous Assignment", the suspense-driven, action-filled television series which aired on NBC from 1952-53, featured globe-trotting excitement and intrigue in every episode.
Now all 39 episodes of this classic TV treasure – digitally remastered for unparalleled picture and audio quality – in this five-disc DVD collector’s set will be made available, Dangerous Assignment: The Complete Television Collection, in stores May 20th from Infinity Entertainment Group.
Based on the international spy series, broadcast on NBC Radio from 1949-53, Dangerous Assignment followed the adventures of U.S. Government agent Steve Mitchell (film actor Brian Donlevy, who originated the role on radio) as he traveled the globe investigating cases of espionage, sabotage and other threats to national security.
The dashing international operative had two prime directives: Get in and out of danger!
The series co-starred Herb Butterfield as The Commissioner, a taskmaster shrouded in secrecy who, like James Bond’s “M,” served up missions his ace agent never seemed to refuse.
