Sorry going to have to disagree, I hated this movie. It is based on a true story, but the story has been beaten to death. Not to mention the woman sacrifices her marriage for what she is doing in the classroom. I know it is important to connect with the kids, but that is too much of a connection.

To each their own. I thought that I'd hate it too but by the time 'the end' appeared on the screen I had grown to like it. It pulled me in, against my initial judgement, and that's why I rated it so highly. I too thought that Erin gave too much to the kids and should've concentrated on her marriage, but at least it went the way of the true story (we assume) and didnt go for a Hollywoodese Officer and a Gentleman ending. I still liked the movie :P.

I highly disagree with you. This mivies was great. Yes she should have Concentrated on her marriage. But the husband should have supported her and instead of staying home he should have been with her to help her succeed. And without her: those kids wouldn't be where they are now. Most of them went to college and succeeded. If she wasn't there then who would of helped thoses children.

i really like the freedom writers. i read the history and i watch the movie . i really like the books . that's very interesting.
a lot of desesperate teenagers need to read that books to see how their life can be change and they can poursuit their dreams . this book encourage me a lot about writing .
